Antique Nepalese Wood Butter Churn tool - Birds
This rare tool from Nepal was used as a tension tool to churn butter. It is unique in its chain-like construction: 2 links are hand carved, from one single piece of wood while most antique butter churners (ghurras), that we can find now are one solid piece. It was probably given as a wedding gift (hence the romantic symbol of the two birds kissing), and is believed to date back to the early 20th century or earlier. We love it as an art object, either hanging on a wall or laying on a small table.
One of a kind.
Dimensions: 9.5" long x 3.25" wide at widest point.
