Workshop in the Patio: Gelli Print with Local Artist Maria Malatesta | Saturday, June 13, 10-1

 Come learn Gelli printing with Sowa artist Maria Malatesta - you may have seen Maria's work in our shop, she's an accomplished painter whose work ranges from gestural abstract landscapes to minimalist line paintings.

During this 3 hour workshop,  learn to make unique monoprints using a gelli plate. There will be demonstrations of various printing techniques, including drawing and painting
on the plate, using stencils, reduction printing, layering and combining shapes. All
materials are included! This will be a fun day and you will leave with many prints!

About Maria Malatesta: Maria's  work has been included in numerous solo and two-person exhibitions in New England and the East Coast, most recently at the Jane Deering Gallery on the north shore.  She holds the Diploma and Fifth Year Certificate from the  School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and a Bachelor of Science from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA. For years, she has taught at Montserrat College of Art, and at International Programs through the Museum School, Boston. Her studio is in Boston’s SOWA district and her work is held in public, corporate and private collections.
