Commission a dog portrait for the holidays!

If you're looking for the perfect (and personal)d gift for the holidays we've got you covered!

This Saturday, November 21 (from 12 - 4pm), bring your pooch to the shop to meet fellow SoWa artist, Katherine Downey Miller, to commission a portrait of your dog.

Feel free to bring your own photo or Katherine can take snapshots to then paint a custom 8" x 8" acrylic portrait on wood. Humans will be required to wear a mask and respect social distancing guidelines.  Dogs - as usual, will be able to do whatever they want, and dog treats will be served.

Each painting costs $325, and will be delivered to the shop by Saturday 12/19. Prepayment is required and not refundable.

Can't make it to the shop that day but want to commission a painting? Email us at info@stitchandtickle.com and we'll get you set you up!

About the artist:
Katherine Downey Miller received her BS in Painting from Skidmore College and her MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts Illustration as Visual Essay Program.

Katherine has been exhibiting for many years nationally and internationally. Although trained in Illustration, Katherine has always been a painter, moving between the worlds of representation and abstraction. Building up layers and transparencies, emphasizing the power of brushstrokes, her work is about a contained chaos, yet in a structured way – whether it be more representational landscape or a movement towards full abstraction. She recently started painting dog portraits and has a unique ability to capture their personality.
