Hasami Porcelain is from the historical town of Hasami in the Nagasaki prefecture of Japan and is made of a proprietary mixture of crushed stone from Amakusa traditionally used in this region for over 400 years.
Due to the organic nature of making this type of porcelainware, color unevenness or sometimes "staining" is normal and is caused by the uncontrollable chemical reaction between the glaze and raw materials during the extreme firing process. These changes in color and texture is not considered second quality nor defective within the Hasami craftsmen community. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and what gives Hasami Porcelain its character.

SHIPPING POLICY:
We apply a $10 flat rate for standard ground shipping on orders shipped within the United States, with some exclusions for fragile, heavy, or oversized items.
Leather Bags: Most Stitch and Tickle leather items are made to order and may take up to 2 weeks to ship. We’re happy to accommodate faster turn around times when possible. Items from the shop ship within 3 business days when in stock. Please let us know if you’re on a tight deadline and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Other items from the shop: If in stock, we ship at least twice a week, i.e. usually within 3 business days from when you placed your order. In the event that some items are on backorder from our suppliers, you will be notified as soon as possible with expected ship date.
Most items ship via UPS Ground or USPS, depending on pickups and rates (which vary often). Stitch and Tickle is not responsible for items lost in transit or after delivery. Customers will receive a shipping notification with a tracking number once their order ships and it is the customer's responsibility to track and collect their package at delivery to minimize the risk of loss or theft. Stitch and Tickle is not responsible for any loss or damage during transit.
International orders: Exact shipping charges will be quoted at checkout depending on the chosen shipping method.
