Field Painting 4 by Maria Malatesta
Field Painting by Maria Malatesta
Maria Malatesta's paintings have been our customers favorites in the shop since we opened and we are now excited to offer them online. Maria is a Massachusetts painter who's worked simultaneously on totally different bodies of work for years (see her other Striped Painting listings). We like the contrast of energy between the two bodies of work presented here and we hope you do as well.
Of her work, Maria says:
"Wild gardens, overgrown fields, oceans, wind and air inspire my work. The colors and movements of nature intuitively find their way into the paintings. While intuition leads the work, color relationships, space and light are important to me. I want the paintings to be experiential. I want them to be somewhere that feels familiar even though these are not real places."
Maria received the Diploma and Fifth Year Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and a Bachelor of Science from Lesley College, Cambridge MA. She also studied at University of California at Davis. For the past 10 years she has studied with Timothy Hawkesworth in Pennsylvania. She has also taken numerous painting trips to Italy.
Please note paintings do not qualify for free shipping. We can ship the paintings anywhere and will send you a separate invoice for shipping within 48 hours of purchase.
