Julie Cohn Paper Chain Bronze Link Bracelet
Hand forged bronze link bracelet.
Julie began her career as a bookbinder. Working with paper for fifteen years, it became her preferred method for prototyping. This bronze bracelet is an example of the idea of something impermanent being translated into something permanent.
Made by Dallas artist Julie Cohn.
7.5 inches long by .25 inches wide. Limited Edition. Handcrafted in the USA.
About the artist:
Educated as a painter and printmaker, Julie studied the craft of bookbinding and box-making to house her prints, which led her down a diverse design path that included rugs, textiles, hardware, tabletop, and collaborations with architects and public art.
As a self-taught jeweler, her approach is unconventional in process and begins by working directly with materials rather than sketching a preconceived idea. She finds inspiration in nature, primitive ethnic forms, indigenous crafts, and old world processes to create pieces with possibilities for layering and stacking that uniquely juxtapose disparate elements with simple elegance.
